This product doesnt burn, the details are false, i buy it, its only cd room.The product that i received its different to the pic.
No es un quemador de cd es solo cd room, no lo compren, lo venden como quemador y no lo es, te envian algo diferente inclusive al d ela foto y por el precio la mayoria no lo regresamos.

The CD-Rom is as expected cheap in construction. It comes with a small CD that has an old version of Nero Express on it. But the CD ROM I received actually had no ability to burn but only to read. I installed several burner software and none of them recognized the CD-ROM as a burner.
Windows 7 recognized the CD-ROM and automatically installed the drivers. It ripped the first music CD with 7x speed unto my laptop. Next day the CD-ROM was not able to copy properly another music CD. It made some funny noises and I thought there must be some friction inside. The mp3-files created were had parts skipped and some "hick-ups" as well.
Buying a $17 CD-ROM burner is a gamble. It may work for some people and for others it will not. I will return my CD-ROM today and ask for a refund.

The drive I was shipped installed correctly but is recognized by Windows Vista Business as a TEAC-224e cd-rom drive. It's not a cd-rw drive. I tried updating drivers etc. The outside of the box does say this is supposed to be a CD-RW drive, but it's a sticker that looks like it was placed over another sticker. Shockingly, there may not have been a strict quality assurance process in the manufacture and packaging of this device. Fortunately amazon will pay for return shipping since the product wasn't as advertised.
I'm going to try another seller. I bought from Global Sources INC. But I can't say I entirely blame them, the box appears to be mis-marked. Others have had a better experience with the drive. Good luck!

I needed an external CD-ROM when I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 from Vista and my current CD-ROM no longer was recognized. I had a difficult time getting this one to connect through Windows 7 as well since the directions didn't include Windows 7, so I emailed them, they got me in contact with someone in IT, and walked me right through it via email, and it worked on the first try. I've only used it the one time to get software onto the computer so so far it's been great!
