Lakeridge Software is currently beta testing their newest software product, Wisbar Adavnace Desktop, version 2. Due to the advances in this new product, development of a new version of Pocket LCARS is necessary, as WAD version 2 is not backwards compatible with version 1.x skins.

I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to bring even more LCARS style functionality to Pocket LCARS. The new features will include animated screen transitions, updated and more finger-friendly graphics, additional sound events and effects.

Added features to 2003/WM5 version

• Changed the functionality of MODE SELECT - The title of each page now swtiches to the MODE SELECT page where the you can navigate to each page within the skin set. Any page is now just two taps away. Tap the page title then tap the title of the page to which you wish to navigate.

Note: When creating a new virtual page, the user should copy the title text from a previous page and paste it into the new virtual page.
• Added COMM page for smartphone users
• Added TEMPORAL DISPLAY as a page, removed the dock.
• Added OWNER INFO page.
• Created 240x240 version of skin set.

Added features to 2003/WM5 version

• MODE SELECT - The title of each page now swtiches to the LAUNCHER page where the Mode Select control is.

Purpose: As the user adds new virtual pages, navigation between pages become more time-consuming. Now, any page is no more than three quick taps away: Tap the page title, tap MODE SELECT, tap the title of the page to which you wish to navigate.

Note: When creating a new virtual page, the user should copy the title text from a previous page and paste it into the new virtual page. Once done, the user can modify the content and position of the text as needed.

• Fixed minor issues with docks and shortcuts after 4 August update.

Sometimes, things don't go quite as they should. While every effort has been made to test Pocket LCARS on multiple platforms, the reality is that I do not have the resources to test it on every possible configuration.

If you run into problems with or have questions about Pocket LCARS, there are several avenues to take, depending upon your particular issue.

For issues concerning Wisbar Advance or Wisbar Advance Desktop:

  1. Visit the Lakeridge Software website and check their FAQ section first.
  2. If you don't find your answer there, then check out the Forums.

For issues specific to Pocket LCARS:

  1. Check out the FAQ for Pocket LCARS. This section is updated whenever a new question comes through. You answer just might be there.
  2. If your question still isn't answered, then please drop me a note. I'll be happy to try and help resolve whatever issue you might have.
